On 9th of October 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the Convention Hub room, the round table 'INNOVATIVE AIR MOBILITY: A NEW MODEL FOR TRANSPORTING PEOPLE AND GOODS' will be held, with the participation of the Mayor of Varese, Davide Galimberti.
During this event, the Mayor will explain how the new vertiport can transform Varese into a crucial hub for sustainable air transport.
“The city of Varese has long since opened a discussion table with other organisations and realities in the area to promote the new air mobility and create a new connection hub in the city centre, in the station area. A zero-emission infrastructure that would make it possible to travel faster, strengthening the network of connections between Malpensa airport and Switzerland, through an intermediate drone-taxi station. This is important in terms of tourism, especially during major sporting events that our city is increasingly hosting, starting with the Olympic Games of 2026. The use of drones is also central to making some essential services more efficient, for example optimising the delivery times of certain medicines. So there are benefits from the point of view of environmental sustainability, promotion of the territory, innovation and social utility,' said the Mayor.”
The round table is part of the programme of events taking place at Dronitaly. Participation is free of charge, subject to online registration at the event.
